Rope Rescue Technician – IC


The Rope Rescue Technician (RRT) course covers concepts and techniques to enable small teams to undertake technical rope rescues. A building block approach is used throughout the course so that candidates can progress from key concepts through to the rigging and operation of full systems for raising, lowering and highline rescues.

  • Performing rope transfers/changeovers
  • Casualty care and packing for horizontal and vertical transport
  • Team-based pick-off variations
  • Mirrored raising and lowering systems
  • Edge transitions without a litter attendant and high directional
  • Use of artificial high directionals
  • Guiding line offsets
  • Tracking line offsets
  • Skateblock offsets
  • Deflected offsets
  • Passing knots through a system

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Rope Rescue Operator course (5 days)
